You may have read our first instalment of “A Year in the Life of a Portable Sludge Screen” last month.
In August, McBreen Environmental’s MSU:10 visited Electric Picnic, one of Ireland’s biggest music and arts festivals.
This month, the portable sludge screen has been working hard at the National Ploughing Championships. The festival was cancelled on Wednesday due to Storm Ali but went ahead as planned on Thursday. The crowds certainly made up for the cancelled day and in true Irish style, didn’t let the rain scare them off.
The MSU:10 has been used to recycle sewage sludge from the festival. The equipment ensures maximum dewatering to minimise waste volumes and disposal costs. As well as that, the fact that it’s portable means that transportation costs are also kept to a minimum.
So where will the MSU:10 be next? We’ll keep you updated- the life of a portable sludge screen is a whole lot more interesting than you’d think!
